STUDENT SERVICES

Specs Howard School strives to prepare students for the workforce. Likewise, the school also helps students acclimate to living and working while attending school. Our student services department can help students obtain transcripts, housing, medical insurance, city services, and more. Below is a directory of information for current and future Specs Howard Students.

HOUSING

Specs Howard main campus is located in the City of Southfield, MI. Our satellite location is located in Farmington Hills, MI.

While Specs Howard School does not provide on-campus housing or dormitories, agreements with nearby college campuses provide a limited number of students with the option of living in such an environment while attending school. However, a number of off-site apartment buildings are located nearby. There are many living options near our campus to accommodate students. We suggest you stop by the student services office for a complete list of local apartments and houses for rent. We also encourage students search online at the following resources:

HEALTH CARE

Wayne County Four Star Health offers a shared expense health coverage perfect for older students that are coping without coverage or younger students not covered by parents.

To be eligible you must be:

A Specs Howard School student
Between ages 18 – 64
A resident of Wayne County

TRANSPORTATION

Specs Howard School is accessible via public transportation and major highways. The school offers free parking for students that drive to campus.

For students seeking public transportation, SMART services the entire metro Detroit area. For a detailed map, click here (PFD, 1.3MB). Full bus schedules are avaliable in the student services office.

For students that drive, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) offers live traffic reports, weather conditions, and highway maps. Students can also visit MichiganGasPrices.com for the best prices on fuel.
